African Tech Startup Of The Week
In the west, the concept of "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) has taken off, and it is also becoming more popular among African retailers and the e-commerce sector. "Buy Now Pay Later" is a short-term financing that enables consumers to make purchases and pay for them at a later time in a series of usually interest-free monthly installments.
Motito is one of the startups promoting BNPL in Ghana and Africa. Founded by Tobi Martins and Betty Blavo, Motito is a buy now, pay later platform that enables companies to provide an interest-free credit alternative to their existing consumers at the point-of-sale.
With Motito, you can walk into a merchant stores (like Ashfoam, TCL, Electromart, etc.) and pay for the items you buy in installments, just as with a credit card.
